Do I need a referral to see a chiropractor?
No, you don't need a referral in most cases. You can schedule directly with us. However, if you're using certain insurance plans, it's always a good idea to check your specific coverage requirements. Our Fort Worth, Saginaw, and Granbury clinics accept BCBS, UHC, Optum, Medicare, and TriWest (TRICARE), and we can verify your benefits before your first visit.

Your First Visit
What should I expect during my first visit?
Your first visit typically takes 45–60 minutes and includes:
- Consultation: We'll discuss your health history, current symptoms, and wellness goals
- Examination: A thorough physical exam including posture analysis, range of motion tests, and orthopedic/neurological assessments
- X-rays (if needed): We have on-site X-ray capabilities at our Fort Worth location when clinically necessary
- Diagnosis: We'll explain what we found and whether chiropractic care can help
- Treatment plan: If we can help, we'll outline a personalized plan with expected timeline and frequency of visits
You'll have plenty of time to ask questions, and we'll never rush you through the process.
What should I bring to my first appointment?

- Any recent imaging (X-rays, MRI, CT scans) related to your condition
- Completed new patient forms (we'll send these to you ahead of time)

Will I get adjusted on my first visit?
In most cases, yes! After your consultation and examination, if we determine that chiropractic care is appropriate and safe for your condition, we can provide your first adjustment during the same visit. However, if we need to review X-rays or if your condition requires a more cautious approach, we may schedule your first adjustment for your next visit.
How long does a typical appointment take?
Follow-up appointments are shorter, depending on your treatment plan. This includes:
- Quick check-in on how you're feeling since your last visit
- Any necessary assessments
- Your adjustment and any additional therapies
- Home care recommendations
We respect your time and work to keep appointments running on schedule.
Treatment Questions
Does chiropractic treatment hurt?
Chiropractic adjustments should not be painful. You may feel some pressure during the adjustment, and you might hear a popping sound (this is just gas being released from the joint—similar to cracking your knuckles). Many patients notice changes after an adjustment.
Mild soreness after your first adjustment is common and usually short-lived—similar to how you might feel after starting a new exercise routine.
How many visits will I need?
The number of visits depends on your evaluation, your condition, and your health goals.
We'll discuss your personalized treatment plan after your examination and give you a clear expectation of frequency and duration. We never pressure you into more visits than necessary.
What techniques do you use?

Insurance & Payment
Do you accept insurance?
Our Fort Worth, Saginaw, and Granbury clinics accept Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS), UnitedHealthcare (UHC), Optum, Medicare, and TriWest (TRICARE). Our Arlington clinic focuses on personal injury care and does not use this list.
Coverage and network status depend on the specific plan, provider, services, and clinic location.

What if I don't have insurance?
We believe everyone deserves access to quality chiropractic care. Without insurance:

- Payment methods: Self-pay; Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, cash, check, Apple Pay, and Google Pay
- HSAs and FSAs: Ask our office whether HSA/FSA cards can be used for your visit

Safety & Special Populations
Is chiropractic care safe during pregnancy?
Pregnancy changes which positions and techniques may be appropriate. The clinician reviews your history, pregnancy stage, symptoms, and relevant medical guidance before recommending care. Chiropractic care does not promise an easier delivery, fetal position, or relief of non-musculoskeletal conditions.
Special pillows and tables may be used for positioning and comfort. Discuss new, severe, or concerning symptoms with your obstetric clinician.
Can children receive chiropractic care?
Children require an age-appropriate history and examination, informed parent or guardian consent, and techniques selected for the individual child. Chiropractic care should not be presented as a treatment for infections, colic, digestive disease, or other conditions that need pediatric medical evaluation.

What about after surgery or with osteoporosis?
Chiropractic care can often be adapted for patients with various health conditions. We use gentler techniques for patients with osteoporosis, arthritis, or those who have had surgery. During your consultation, we'll review your complete medical history and may consult with your other healthcare providers to ensure chiropractic care is appropriate and safe for your specific situation.
